Students coming to Baden-Württemberg within the consortium of universities of applied sciences have the option to select studying at four different universities, the attached video presents all four locations and the international programme initiated. by Kettering University in the USA, in the meantime most of our international partner institutions participate.in the academic program offered through this initiative as well

Courses for the Mechanical Engineering Program are all pre-approved for credit at Kettering. Students can take up to 20 credit hours while abroad and can choose from the following course options:

Students will receive pass/fail grades on their Kettering transcripts.  Students must receive a minimim grade of a D to be considered a pass. Anything below this grade, the student will need to retake upon returning back to Kettering and the transcript will show a "fail". 

All courses are graded and count toward the student's degree. 

Number of credits

All students must enroll in 16 credits or more. Anything below 16 credits will be considered part time and may impact financial aid.

Reutlingen offers a wide range of other cultural events, sights to see, and places to visit.

Student Activities

As an exchange student at Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences, you have full access to all of the university's student resources. The Student Parliament (STUPA) offers different trips like skiing and snowboarding, paintball, laser tag, rock climbing/bouldering gym, and much more!

Furthermore, Reutlingen offers a wide range of other cultural events, sights to see, and places to visit.  For more information please see their website.

For students interested in sports, you can take part in the University’s sports programme without prior experience and without registering – free of charge. You can find an overview of all availble sports on their website. Please note this will be covid dependent.  

 

Housing & Meals

Reutlingen University provides housing to Kettering University students, however it is impertiave students apply on time as there are limited accommodations available. Students will generally receive a single room within an apartment or residence hall suite. All housing is within 10 minutes of the campus. Most students will have access to kitchens, but the university also provides a dining hall, and there are many cafes and restaurants within the city.  

There are no meal plan options. Students should be prepared to use the kitchen to cook food or eat at local resturants or the university canteen.

Housing is paid directly to Kettering University and students will be billed for the term they study abroad. Deposit is refundable and will be put back in their student account approximately 6 weeks after returning from their program. Note that deposits will only be returned if the accommdation is deemed in the same condition as it was received.
